Aleksandra Bielawiec, DNP, NP, is a nurse practitioner and an aesthetic master injector at Regency Medical Spa & Hair Clinic in Barrington, Illinois, who has specialized in dermatology and aesthetic medicine for the past 14 years. She attended Roosevelt University and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology before pursuing an interest in nursing, graduating with honors from DePaul University with a master’s degree in nursing and receiving a nurse practitioner certification. Most recently, as a result of her determination and desire to help others achieve their best health outcomes, Sandra received her nursing doctorate.

Sandra’s interest in aesthetics started early in her nursing career. Learning facial proportions and the art of facial “beautification” has always been a goal, even while working in intensive care units and emergency rooms for more than seven years. After Sandra left hospital nursing, she put all her efforts and energy into becoming a well-respected master injector in the aesthetic community.

With over a decade of experience, Sandra offers her cosmetic patients a unique approach to treatment, utilizing experience, knowledge, attention to detail, and an artistic eye for the best results. Her areas of expertise include non-surgical facial rejuvenation, specializing in a variety of injection techniques, as well as a holistic approach to facial assessment. Sandra is certified and highly proficient in dermal filler injection, facial and body thread insertion for lifting, neurotoxin administration, wellness and diet management, and several types of laser treatments and skin care regimes for clients of all skin types across lifespans.

Following highly specialized training, Sandra was nominated and awarded as teaching faculty for Galderma, where she has held a prestigious status of an instructor and trainer for a major aesthetic company. Currently, Sandra provides training to other medical providers who share an interest in aesthetics across all skill levels. Her compassionate approach and professionalism offer all learning participants excellent entry into the world of aesthetics.

Emily Afanador RN-BSN

Emily has worked in healthcare for over twelve years. She graduated from Resurrection University in Chicago, Illinois; where she received her Bachelor of Nursing in Science. Her primary nursing experience has been working in Cardiology and Progress Care units. One of her main goals was to utilize her hospital skills and transition her career path into the Plastics and Aesthetics industry. Emily wanted to learn more about Aesthetics and how she could incorporate her nursing experience to provide the best patient outcomes. In 2021, she received her certification from the Chicago School of Aesthetics as a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Injector. Emily loves to educate patients on the importance of skincare and self-care. She takes pride in her Aesthetic work; helping her patients feel confident and encouraged. Emily is experienced in Neurotoxins, Dermal Fillers, IV Therapy, PRP/PRF injections, and MicroNeedling.

Dr. Nader Aziz

Owner/Physician MD

Dr. Nader Aziz is a board certified family practice physician. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California – San Diego (UCSD) where he participated in numerous research projects. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1987 where he received the Delia Tenile Award for good academic standing. His post graduate training included family practice at the University of Minnesota along with general surgery at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. He completed his family practice residency at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago in 1994 in which he was the Chief Resident during his last year there.

Dr. Aziz is licensed in Illinois and California. In 1997 Dr. Aziz joined and became partner of Regency Medical Center. Dr. Aziz specializes in the treatment for coronary artery disease, diabetes, asthma and high cholesterol. He has consistently performed several procedures in his office including cosmetic treatments. Because of his passion in this area he opened Regency Medical Spa in 2008.

Dr. Aziz is the Medical Director of Lexington Nursing of Lake Zurich. He is on staff at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. Dr. Aziz is on the Credentialing Committee at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and a member of the Academy of Family Practice.

When he isn’t working, Dr. Nader Aziz stays involved with several community organizations including Coptic Orthodox Charities and the Illinois Order of Police. He is also an active outdoorsman who enjoys biking, boating, and scuba diving.

Piera Ferruzza

Co-Founder/Patient Coordinator

Piera has spent the better part of her life helping people feel great about themselves and their appearance.

For over 27 years, Piera was the Patient Coordinator for one of the largest plastic surgery clinics in the Midwest. A patient coordinator is one of the most important roles to have, because they are acting as the go-between for the doctor and the patient. But for Piera, the role became so much more.

She took the role very seriously and personally. Understanding that the many procedures patients could have varied from simple and aesthetic to sensitive and deeply personal. She strived to make sure each patient understood that their concerns were her top priority, and worked to make them feel comfortable and secure in their decisions- while also offering gentle guidance for best results and meeting their expectations.

She took the approach that each patient was like a member of her own family. They felt confident in her, as her caring was authentic and genuine. This made Piera a lifelong resource for patients, and their trust in her is still her first priority.

Piera’s passion has obviously translated to her role here at Regency, and our patients are quickly learning just how much Piera cares. Since joining the family in October 2020, she’s invested her time and compassion in every patient from introduction to consultation, to post-procedure follow-up. Every patient, every case, every outcome.

Piera reaches beyond English-speaking patients, as she’s also fluent in Italian, Sicilian, and Spanish.

When Piera isn’t helping patients, her focus on health translates to her downtime. She can be found playing competitive tennis for CITA (Chicago Indoor Tennis Association) at Midtown Palatine/Northbrook Racquet and Tennis Club and spending time with her family.

Gail Bennett

Esthetician

Gail has been passionate about skincare since her early 20’s. Her interest was stemmed by the Skin Care Guru, Erno Laszlo. She took her passion into the Salon Spa as a Spa Director for 10 years. During that time, she received her Medical Esthetic Certificate at Tru University in Chicago. She then learned about Dr. Perricone’s discovery of Anti-Aging or reversing the signs of time through nutrition and supplementation. This led her to become a district esthetician for Dr. Perricone Skin Care line in the Chicagoland area.

Gail’s approach to skincare from that point forward has been from the inside out. She took her education of proper nutrition and supplementation and combined them with topical home care treatment to reach your ultimate skincare results.

Gail has extensive training through non-stop continuing education in Acne, Rosacea, and reversing the signs of time.

Gail has 18 years of experience with treatment that include, but is not limited to, facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning, micro-needling, BBL, Emsculpt, skin tightening, and more.

Gail believes in continuing education in this non-stop growing industry. This allows her to give each client the best individual skin analysis, and treatments to meet their individual needs.

Jeni Miller

Massage Therapist/Medical Assistant

Jeni is our licensed massage therapist and medical assistant. She has been licensed in massage since 2012 and has been with the spa since October 2012. She uses a blend of techniques from deep tissue, Swedish, and hand reflexology to customize the massage around the client’s wants and needs. She has worked alongside Doctors and Chiropractors throughout the years to perfect her therapeutic techniques and has a true passion for helping those in pain, whether it be from an acute or chronic ailment. Her clients and fellow staff members like to say she has “magic hands” so if you book a massage with her you’re sure to return!

She has trained in the office throughout the years to be our Medical assistant. She will take clients back for pictures, numb them if needed, and aids the providers with the more invasive procedures. She is very focused on patient comfort and really goes above and beyond with making the client’s experience as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you look and feel your best!
